Terms & Conditions

1. About these terms
These terms govern any quote, work or contract between Spectrum Electrical & Building Ltd ("we", "us") and you ("the customer"). By engaging us you agree to them. They sit alongside, and do not affect, your statutory consumer rights.
2. Quotes and estimates
Written quotes are fixed for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Verbal estimates are indicative only. Any variation requested on site is agreed in writing, usually by message, before the work is carried out.
3. Bookings and access
Time slots are booked in good faith. We'll let you know promptly if an earlier emergency forces a re-schedule. The customer is responsible for safe access to the property and the location of the work.
4. Payment
For domestic jobs, payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise. On jobs over £250 we take a materials deposit upfront to secure your booking and cover parts ordered ahead of the start date. Larger installations may also require stage payments as set out in the quote. Commercial customers are invoiced on 14-day terms unless agreed otherwise.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel any quoted work up to 24 hours before the booked start with no charge. Cancellations after that point may incur a callout fee to cover lost time and any parts already ordered.
6. Workmanship guarantee
All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months (1 year) from completion. Manufacturer warranties on supplied parts and equipment apply separately and are passed through to you in full. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party intervention or system contamination.
7. Liability
We are fully insured for public and product liability. Our liability for any one job is limited to the value of that job, except where the law does not permit such limitation (for example, death or personal injury caused by negligence).
8. Certification and compliance
All notifiable electrical work is certified and notified to Building Control where required. Landlord EICRs and other statutory certificates are issued on completion.
9. Complaints
If something isn't right, tell us, we'll put it right. Email spectrum.eb@mail.com or call 07864 901019. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
