In depth
The details a salesperson skips. Skim it, or read every word, both are useful.
The most common install, a 7kW single-phase tethered or untethered charger fitted to an exterior wall with a tidy cable run back to the consumer unit. We add Type A or Type B RCBO protection, upgrade the consumer unit if needed, and commission the smart-app for off-peak charging.
Where a three-phase supply is available, a 22kW charger delivers significantly faster charging, useful for plug-in hybrids switching to BEVs or for households with two EVs sharing one charger. We confirm the supply, file the DNO notification and design load management.
Workplace charging for small fleets and customer-facing sites, multi-unit installs, load-balancing across chargers, back-office reporting and OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme support where eligible.
